New Episode of Once! And a post!
Hey, sorry about that! I mean to go all radio silence here. I'm off to bed soon tonight but tomorrow Chicklet is back at school and I'll catch up and write a few posts. And reply to comments and comment on posts. Once I'm behind I have tendency to procrastinate and put off doing anything. (I'm still looking through my vacation pictures but I think I'll be able to post a few tomorrow.)

And I did want to say just a few things about tonight's EXCELLENT episode of Once Upon a Time!

First of all - I LOVED IT!!! Complete awesomeness. Yes, it was a Carlyle-centric episode. :)

- Adorable amnesia!Belle at the beginning was adorable. If she had stayed I KNOW she would have had her memories back very soon. She was so ready.

- The 'you're Henry's GRANDFATHER????' conversation with Gold and Regina was excellently snarky. As was their chat after Regina jogged Belle's memories. I do adore them sparring.

- Robin Hood was in VERY GOOD shape after being tortured that much. *g* Hardly any blood at all. Hmmmm. They couldn't show it or Rumpel was up to something?

- And you could almost feel Rumpel putting up 'I'm EVIL. EVIL, EVIL, and more EVIL' warning signs around himself. Not that he isn't evil, but, damn, he was trying way too hard.

- The hug! If he wasn't smitten before, he CERTAINLY was then. Case in point - LIBRARY.

- As for Lacey? Love her! I could feel that she was ditching him on the date but then he showed his dark side and now he has her back. Do I see a crime spree coming on? Heh. Can't wait.

- Because dark!Gold is DAMN hot. Guh. I love me some dark and twisted relationships. I'm looking forward to more dark!Rumbelle.

- Of course, that is exactly what Regina wants. Very clever. (I do love her all clever and in control and looking for advantage. Good on her for finding a way to get back at Rumpel!) Give up on Belle by trying to be good and keep his relationship with Bae. Or give up on Bae by being evil and start a relationship with Lacey. Not that I think he is giving up on Bae but Bae might give up on him.

- Oh, and Nottingham is an idiot. He took out your tongue for wanting Belle back when he barely knew her. What did you think he was going to do when you had your hands AND tongue all over her when she is his True Love?

And tongue. Heehee. You make me giggle, Chloris. ;-)

I do think there needs to be a Magics Anonymous (or Evil Anonymous) group in town. Rumpel and Regina as each other's sponsors isn't working out at all! :-)

And watch that Owen needs his father for some dastardly deed! Because that's how this show rolls.

It seemed appropriate! Sometimes the jokes just write themselves. :)

Heh. If they are each other's sponsors the other characters REALLY need to work on that. The two of them will happily trip the other into falling off the wagon and then laugh at them.

Oh...I hope not. I'm not pleased with Owen at the moment but he did suffer serious tramua so I would prefer he was some shade of medium to light grey.

It's like as little boys we have sympathy for them, but not as much when they are grown men.

Some writer on that staff has some little boy trauma issues. Think about it: Owen, August, Bae, Henry. Pretty messed up little boys. Messed up by life. At least the women were teens before life messed with them. (Cora, Snow, Emma, Red.)

I do feel bad for the little boy versions. Owen had the saddest little face.

*gee* love regina becoming herself again.

love dark rumpel. they forgot he is not easter bunny! i always told this. maybe they need to remember about dark one.

absolutely don't like lacey. or maybe not lacey (after all she's just cartoon personage) but emily de ravin. so clear seeable in this episode she is very very bad actress. even with robert doing all work it still wisible. (((

and i have one interesting theory.
did you notice different color of magic smoke? i think when magic is dark and evil - so magik smoke is dark blue. and just magic has bright purple color (my most loving color by the way).

i detected that cora and regina had "dark magic" smoke. but rumpel almost all time we know him has purple smoke. because he lost blood thirst. so he was not so pure evil. only in his early and darker days he had those blue magic smoke.
and now his darkness coming back. congratulations to lacey, and also regina's effort.

oh! and i don't understand why rumpel's makeup becomes worse than before. more green? more warty. they trying to make his face uglier. but for what?

Yeah, I've had enough of sad woobie Regina and I was ready for her to be more badass and controlled.

I was also happy to see dark Rumpel. They do seem to have forgotten how dangerous he can be. But this is not going to be good for his relationship with Bae!

I have noticed the different colors but I'm not sure if they have a meaning or the different directors picked the colors at random.

I guess they have been experimenting with his makeup this season to find a version which is more durable. I do wish they would pick something already! He looks different every episode.

I loved Regina being all sassy, sarcastic, and in control...her & Rumple's verbal sparring was most amusing. : )

Regarding Rum's makeup in his flashback sequences, the makeup people this season do seem to be all over the place with it.

In the scenes with young Cora in "The Miller's Daughter", his makeup seemed very warty and "peeling", as if it was wearing off in places, and seemed much more textured than usual.

In "Lacey", Rum's face seemed (to me) to be much more gold and glittery than he was previously seen, but also smoother, as if they were just glittering his face with gold glitter makeup.

Bit confusing! They really need to just pick a "look" and stick with it (unless they're experimenting because RC is having allergic or uncomfortable reactions to some of the makeup being used?).

They always bring the lovely snark. And I much prefer Regina when she isn't playing nice.

Yeah, the makeup is an annoyance. I tend to push past the differences as I'm watching and focus on his acting. But I would like them to pick a look! Generally I prefer it smoother so I hope they continue in that direction.

I hadn't heard about any allergies but I suppose it could be. Maybe it took too long to apply?

I'm actually sad Rumple beat that guy the way he did. Belle was his one saving hope and now he's slipped back into the hateful side. I mean, I don't expect Rumple to be perfect and always super nice nor do I want that. But still, Belle almost always kept him on the right path. Now I'm worried he won't recover. Not to mention I'd hate to see Belle go down that path. I know this isn't really Belle, but...

I may enjoy watching him be all evil but I know it wasn't a good thing for him to give in so fully to his dark side! Though now at least he knows how to attract Lacey. Continuing to be good would have meant he was doomed to failure in bringing back Belle. And I would not be surprised if (after his initial self motivated display of badness) he plays up his dark side without really succumbing to it.

As for Belle, everyone in town has had to deal with curse memories and doing things they would not have otherwise. If Snow can get over sleeping with Whale and Charming can get over accusing her of murder, then Belle can get past this too. After what we saw in the flashbacks, I can't believe that ANYTHING gold could do would shock her. She was cleaning bloody aprons and still hugged him shortly thereafter when he spared Robin's life.
