Coffee
Mmmm...coffee. It's my first cup since last week and I'm enjoying it. I'm a decaf girl - caffeine makes me VERY jittery - so I don't have the withdrawal issues but I miss it when I don't have a cup in a while. Heated, foamed milk in the winter and cold milk with a trip to the freezer in the summer. Either way about half coffee/half milk.

====================

I have a recommendation for anyone looking for a good toaster oven. One that can make a small bread or a pie. As well as make excellent, evenly toasted toast. The Breville Toaster Oven - we have the compact model.

My in-laws bought one for themselves (they have a nice, but fussy, gas range and wanted something small and quick) and then bought one for everyone else. I wasn't sure how much we were going to use it but it turns out that even beyond toast - we tossed our toaster since it was redundant - we use it most every day. The size we have is a nice adjunct to my oven and works for small batches of things. And it's great for heating leftovers since we don't have a microwave.

It's a bit pricey as a toaster but would work great as an oven replacement for one or two people. (Or a second oven for someone who has people over for family events.) And my mother-in-law did make both a very tasty lemon pie and a bread in one over Christmas.

====================

Just when I thought it was safe to visit Once Upon a Time fandom on tumblr - after the fuss died down from Manhattan - there are NEW SPOILERS and the hornet's nest is buzzing again. We have pictures and hints and previews for The Miller's Daughter (not the next episode - the one after) and it is getting everyone upset for all sorts of different reasons.

Well, I adored Manhattan AND I personally am really looking forward to Miller's Daughter. As far as I can tell is going to follow the same pattern as last year: Strong beginning. Muddled middle where things meander. Blowout finish as everything comes together.

===================

And now to continue cleaning house, catching up on comments and replies, and contemplating what to cook for the next few days now that I'm hungry again. I made awesome chicken and broccoli risotto last night. What to have tonight?

I loved Manhattan, too! So, when can we expect your more in-depth review?

Soon! I can't seem to get my thoughts in order.

Manhattan was awesome. I have to stay away from Tumblr and spoilers--I find it more fun to speculate, then find out as the show airs.

Toaster ovens are also good for saving on electricity--it takes less to heat that smaller space, so if you're just making something quick, it's better to use a toaster oven. I looove my toaster oven. I kept my toaster, though, b/c I'm picky about my toast, and it just doesn't toast sliced bread the way I like (but everything else comes out wonderfully).

For me it's too much speculation that tends to suck the life out of a show for me. I don't mind knowing things that will happen without the spec though. (Like I'll read a complete recap of an episode just before watching the episode and still enjoy watching. Not for Once since I do want some surprises, but other shows.)

Indeed. Saving electricity and not heating up the kitchen so much. This oven makes PERFECTLY even toast so there was no point in keeping a toaster too. But I'm happy we're using it for other things too.

You know, I think you actually just helped me figure out what it is about the toast from the toaster oven that I don't like--it's too even. I like it to have some bits that are more done than others--which I realize is weird.

I'm so glad you're feeling better! You made me want a cup of coffee and I've mostly given it up the last handful of years. :-)

I enjoy tea too but only with coffee do I have milk and I love the flavor of the coffee with the milk. I've tried tea with milk and it upsets my stomach.

I do have to say that today's coffee was especially good though! :D
