Quick Thoughts About Manhattan
I've seen the episode and I have a few thoughts!

HA!! Neal is Bae! *happy dance* Bae needs to be in the middle of everything! Rumpel needs to be in the middle! Yes, of course everything is all tied up together. It is a PROPHECY! And a Fairytale! :D

Robert Carlyle was AWESOME as usual! I loved every scene he was in. And I loved finding out what happened in the Ogre Wars.

Jennifer was also awesome. She always does great at the emotion scenes. Then need to give her more of them!

Henry will be his undoing! That has A LOT of possible interpretations. And killing him is not going to be so easy, Rumpel. Heh. Actually, I do not think there is any way he is going to kill or even try to kill Henry.

And now we know what was in the box. The damn typewriter. *g* With positive PROOF that someone else knows all. *looks at the Blue Fairy*

Charming and Snow had the Thanksgiving talk! Hee. Now someone needs to write a fic of the dinner.

Many more thoughts about the episode to come soon!

I had to watch this one twice! I kind of figured Neal was Bae too! I liked the backstory on Rumple. I just hope they don't kill him off. I can't believe we have to wait 2 weeks for the next episode. Why can't they show the Oscars on Saturday?

I get the feeling we were supposed to connect the dots on Neal=Bae so I was happy with it. And the backstory answered many questions!

Nah, they are not killing him off. Right now Bae isn't willing to go to Storybrooke even with Henry in the picture but I get the feeling he is not going to be so cold once he sees his father nearly dead. (Anyway Rumpel needs to bring Belle back!)

Why can't they show Once on another night! That's what I wonder since there are so many 'events' on Sunday nights.

What do you mean when he sees his father nearly dead??? Is that a spoiler???

OMG! So much angst in this ep! SO heart wrenching! And Milah... She's a bitch through and through. I really think she hoped Rumpel would be killed on the front line. Poor Rumpel.

It was beautifully angsty and I am so happy they slowed things down enough to focus on everyone's pain in the episode. All three - Gold, Emma, and Bae - did a great job on the confrontations.

It's seems she is not alone in the village though in preferring a dead hero to a live coward. I wish they had shown her being shunned since it would make her a little more understandable.

I loved that episode as well. Carlyle was absolutely stunning in it.

The only thing I didn't get was Rumple's wife reaction to him coming back. If she had loved him as much as she claimed she'd be happy to have him back especially since she just got his baby.

I'm always impressed by his acting and this episode gave him so much work with it. It was lovely to see.

I do think they could have given us more on why Milah so completely turned on him in the episode. It would have been nice to have a scene of her getting the news and then being shunned. But we do see what being labeled a coward does to their financial situation - by the time The Crocodile is set they are exceedingly poor while they are rather well off in this episode.

It seems such a contrast to how they were before. Somehow I can't believe that she loved him at all. I think one reason for the poverty might just be that she worked against him from there on. I'm quite sure that together they might have managed better, I don't know. Maybe there's a backstory for Milah that we'll get at some point.

Yes, I would like to see more of her and what she wants for herself as opposed to seeing her through Rumpel's eyes.

As for the poverty, just look at how completely destitute he and Bae are in Desperate Souls. With Milah there they are poor but scraping by and with her gone he can barely sell enough thread to put food on the table. So I don't think she was working against them but rather that no one in town wanted anything to do with him or his family.

I'm not saying she didn't work, I'm just saying by dissing him she worked against him (and possibly him finding work). She seems like a strong woman and it definitely did not look as if she was shunned, at least not in the bar she worked, so I'm quite sure she could have found Rumple work as well.
